I thought you guys might want to check out some of my benchmarks.

My system:
Athlon 64 FX-53
1GB Corsair XMS 3200 DDR400
ASUS SK8V Motherboard
ATI X800 XT PE
All stock speeds

I'm currently using the catalyst 4.7 drivers. I used FRAPS to grab these averages so I expect the frames to be slightly higher than listed. All scores wee taken with the resolution at 1600X1200 with ALL effects and AA and Ans filtering maxed out.

That doesn't sound right... 1600x1200 with 8XAA and 16XAF in Far Cry?... with 4XAA and 8XAF AnandTech's results show VERY similar numbers to your's. I just find it very hard to believe that you're running AA and AF so much higher and getting the same results...

Did you mean you really maxed AA and AF out at 8X and 16X respectively? Or by "maxed out" did you mean 4X and 8X?

There is no 8xAA; 6xAA is the highest on ATi cards and it's also not a very large performance hit over 4xAA.

Likewise the performance hit from 8xAF to 16xAF isn't very high if it's in performance mode.

The max setting in Far Cry is 4 for AF so it is set to the max at 4 and the max AA setting. I have the graphics maxed as high as they can go. I have a great system what can i say... FX-53 is a great processor paired with a great video card.

In the case of ATi the control panel will override both settings if they're not set to "application preference".

I run Far Cry under 16x performance AF just like I run all of my games.

I thought that by selecting application preference it would allow the game to determine which FSAA or AF mode to use otherwise it is disabled?

What are the best settings for eye candy (quality) in the ATI control panel? Do you leave app pref unchecked?

Great benchies. I can't wait to get my card in!

sigh speak about getting the card. My order has been placed back order since June 6th.
They told me I was suppose to receive it on the 9th which I was absolutely delighted.
Then they backordered the item further to the 9th of July.

Next, 25th of July. Surely tempting me to cancel the order until they get like 1000 cards into the warehouse.
