no clue what I'm getting, but I def. can't afford no 50k+ new X5. Is yours 3.0? Has the bodykit so I'm thinking 4.8? Reason I said 3.0 is because of the old wheels.

Edit: n/m saw it was a 3.0si

With that kit and the wheels looks like a 4.8

Nice Car. I'm jealous

The aero kit can be ordered on any X5, but the 20" wheels as a purchaseable upgrade at the dealer is not available on the 3.0 but many people choose to do it on their own. One benefit to doing this on your own is that the dealer provides only high-performance summer tires so if you live in a colder state you need to always swap in another set for winter. All-seasons FTW.

Noteable differences between the 3.0 & 4.8 are oval exhaust tips instead of round, titanium kidney grills, and of course the engine. Everything else - moonroof standard, runflats standard, all packages the same... so you see why many don't opt to spend another $9k to get the 4.8i. I mean, if money grew on trees, yes. ;)

If I were getting a new similar car with a lower price range, check out the upcoming Q5. Should be in the X3's area but looks a lot better imo. On the other hand, you may be a BMW-lifer. ;)

Definitely a huge improvement. How much did the rims set you back?

$1k wheels, $1k tires. Small price to pay for much more satisfaction if you ask me. Like I said, I couldn't hold back any longer. ;)

What is the width of the stock tires?

18" stock or 19" sport: both 255 width

With these wider tires = more grip, can feel it in higher speed driving.

I thought for a second you meant 1k per wheel...but definitely a good deal at a total of $2k for the whole deal. Huge improvement. Congrats.

?!? $2000 on wheels is incredible, usually its WAY more. Even the cheapest winter wheels/tires I could get on my STI cost me $1500. Good job at $2000 man, looks fantastic.

Seriously. That's a great price. Many are over $2k per wheel. :(

I think my mods stop here. Not gonna mess with the engine and risk anything mechanically.

I went to babies r us yesterday and I have a good idea where the rest of my money for the next decade+ is going.

Oh, I thought with the wider tires you would be adding more horsepower. 315 seems odd with only a 260hp engine.

:) I live in Palm Beach County...it seems as soon as a new SUV or luxury car is out, the road is full of them. We even have the uber 6 figure ones running around here like they were Mustangs.

If the staggered 20s called for 285, that's what I'd put on it too. I'm not looking to race the thing. ;)

Ahhh OK. So are those the OEM versions for the 4.8L then?

Same 20s as the 4.8 gets, yes. These are the style 214s that they'd get if they get the sport package w/ 20" upgrade.

few led shots

Part of the overpriced premium package I just had to get to cap it off. :D

Anyone ever seen the Lincoln Navigators with the stepping board that folds in and out when a door is opened? I wish they weren't the only ones to think of it. :(

Ah OK. That makes sense then that they were an option for the 4.8L.
