Well, today I grabbed my coffee and went to work, sat down in my nice cozy chair and got ready for a few morning AT posts.

But wait...

What's this? Blocked by Websense?! Surely this must be a mistake! Unfortunately, or fortunately for those of you who don't really care for the chronic OT-posting types, of which we have a few, it wasn't a mistake. A couple F5 smashes in succession proved that it is indeed the end of an era, for me at least.

No more Anandtech at work.

Yeah, I know a couple of you will say, "proxy servAr FTW n00b" but I've never been one to tamper around with that crap on work computers.

So, this isn't really a rant, or whining, or anything else. Just an FYI memo of sorts I guess. Obviously I have multiple lifetimes worth of posts already, and then some.

Yeah, half the time I was hacking the filter to download something we actually needed.
 
LOL those things are so easy to get around.

Hell even proxify.com should work. But, they blocked AT for a reason, so if I were you, get to work! 😉

Yeah, I hate to say it, but HamburgerBoy is right. Unless you have some sort of job where they pay you to get nothing done (and let me know if you do, cause I want in) you should PROBABLY be working when you are at work.

I think they may have upgraded to Enterprise edition? I don't know much about it, but I didn't notice that "Enterprise" logo at the top of the page before.

Oh well. This will do wonders for my productivity.

We leave anandtech unblocked. In all honesty you were probably blocked on purpose. A report may have been ran to determine some sites you frequently use, then those sites were blocked. We've blocked many a site per manager request.
 
Too bad......... maybe check for a unsecured wireless connection around your work space and get a PDA 😉

hahaha been there - my boss when i worked for the government was a consultant who cared very little for process, so whenever we needed something he would just tell me to get it (FTR I'm talking only about hacking through the corporate filters, not piracy; paying for things wasn't a problem, waiting a week to get them was).
