My Wireless router just stopped working after 3 years

Been using a Netgear WGR614 now for about 3 years with absolutely zero problems. I have my desktop wired into it and I have a laptop and a PS3 that I connect to it wirelessly. Zero issues.

Anyway, I woke up yesterday morning and my desktop couldn't find a connection. I unplugged the router for a few minutes and reconnected. Didn't solve anything. I bypassed the router and hooked my cable modem straight to my PC and it worked fine. So the problem is with the router.

When I attempt to login to the router I can not even access it by going to http://192.168.100.1/ or to http://www.routerlogin.net/

The power light and the check light are on for the router.

Any ideas?

Try using the reset button. If it still doesn't work after that it's probably dead.

I tried doing a hard reset. It didn't work. Router must be dead.

Any recommendations on a replacement

What are your requirements and how much $$

Best: Asus WL-500 G Premium v2
Good: Asus WL-520GU / Linksys WRT54GL

Well my two wireless devices are a ps3 and a laptop with 802.11g. I don't run any home servers or anything. If my PS3 was 802.11N then I'd feel compelled to get an "N" router for streaming video. But I really don't think it's necessary.

I guess for me Range and connection reliability are more important. I was reading about the WL-520GU and I might go that route. I don't really know anything about dd-wrt but everyone seems to be raving about it. And the added benefit of a print server is nice. It's currently $44.99 -$10MIR and free shipping. So not bad I guess.
