My wireless network "loses" connection..help!

I have the following:

Presario 1500 Laptop
XP Pro, SP1
Compaq WL 100 wireless network card
Linksys WAP (11?) connected to a Linksys 4 port router

I have the latest drivers for the wireless WL 100

What happens is that I'm surfing the web and all the sudden webpages stop loading, email will not download, and I end up having to reboot to get it working again. I can't pinpoint any one website that creates this problem, it appears very random. Logging off and back on will not do it, it requires a reboot.

Has anyone seen this, experienced this, and if so, how in the world did you fix it? I'm at my wits end, it's driving me nuts!

TIA

Try to work in the same room that the WAP is.

If it is not occurring when you are very close to the WAP, then it is some interference in the envioroment (Cordless Telephone, Microwave etc.).

If it is occurring while you are close.

Get (borrow) another computer with wireless capacity so you can check if the WAP is the culprit.

However, my guess is that it has to do with the laptop Wireless Client Card. Get the latest drivers form Compaq, and try to reinstall the drivers.
