i have a wireless network in my apartment and it never used to have disconnections but now I get them pretty frequently
is it possible that someone is trying to access or hack into something?

The wireless router has a firewall and i also run zonealarm firewall on my laptop

i couldn't get network security up since it won't work for some odd reason so my wireless connection is available to anyone that lives near me.... I'm not the only one as I can connect to at least 5 networks near me without a password

any ideas on how to better protect my network

enable WEP, or better yet, WPA.

What brand router and card do you have?
