My windows start button not working, Please help

Hi guys,


I upgraded my old Asus UL80J laptop to windows 10 from windows 7 last year. it runs fine until last. out of sudden my window start button is not working. I can't going to the programs any more. When I press the left mouse button, nothing happen. I still can right click the mouse and get into the admin tools. is this a virus problem or something else. I think the windows 10 just did a major update.

Outside of running sfc, those seem overkill.

It's happened to me a couple times, reboots always got it working again. It hasn't happened in a good while now, though.

Thank you guys. none of the things mention above don't work. I figure more likely is the windows update cause that. so I uninstalled the last windows 10 update which was installed on April 15, 2016. it fixed after that.

so my start button quits working every few weeks
the powershell usually fixes it

it stopped again on 5/22, i fixed it that day
it stopped again on 5/23

its getting frustrating

the only common thread i can find is it happens when my wife uses the pc
99% of her use is with chrome on facebook (i dont use FB)

any way to make this fix stick?
is facebook breaking my pc?
