my windows ecosystem is complete!!!

So over the past few months, I have been swapping android and ios devices for corresponding windows devices and today it is finally complete. I sold a MacBook pro and went for a thinkpad carbon, a dell venue 11 pro for the ipad air/Samsung glaxy tab 2, nokia lumia icon for the iphone 5/Samsung galaxy s3, xbox one and xbox 360 for gaming, windows home server for my media. With skydrive and office 365, I think Microsoft has hit a homerun here!!!

I think this post needs a picture of all your gear in a giant pile.

edit: or arranged in the shape of a giant M

Haha, I've done the same thing.

Work PC 8.1 Update 1
Surface Pro 1
Dell Venue 8 Pro
Nokia Lumia 920

Definitely skydrive and office has me super pleased especially for work with active pen input for one note. Debugging code on the fly is nice with the Surface Pro.

Lol. I went the same route. Now sporting the Surface Pro and Lumia 928.

For myself my reasoning was everything works very well together, and I got tired of Android. Just needed something different. At some point you get tired of tinkering and just want to use your devices get your stuff done and get back to life.

I really want to get a surface pro but it just doesn't make sense right now. My laptop is good enough atm

Yea, I have a Win7 desktop, Win8.1 laptop, and a 920, but my old Touchpad is working well enough for tablet duties that I haven't been able to convince my wife I need a new one.

I figure I can hold out for Cherry Trail tabs late this year. Plus by then I suspect the Universal App model will have started getting apps, so I'll be able to buy once and run on all three - might even convince me to upgrade the desktop.

I really like Windows phone 8.1...really do. Want one but...the apps. Some of the apps I use just aren't available there and I don't think some of them ever will be.

It's all well and good to say "you get tired of tinkering" but when the apps you use daily have no version on the platform and there are no plans for one to be made it makes the decision for me. I could switch from Android to iOS and never miss a beat, but switching to windows phone and I lose lots of functionality.

I really, really, love SkyDrive (or OneDrive). The way it has been integrated into Microsoft Office and Windows 8.1 has really been amazing. In addition it works on my iPhone (previously Android) just as well too. I use it more than Google Docs at this point.

I've got a Nokia 920, a Surface Pro 1, and Asus Laptop w/ Windows 8.1, a desktop w/ windows 8.1 and an HTPC with windows 8.1. Also an Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

I can't believe how badly they've messed up Xbox Music from their holy grail of a starting place, the Zune application. Xbox music, across every platform, is utter garbage.

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro and Surface Pro, but I still cling to my iPad and Nexus 7 as well.

I thought about getting a Nokia Icon, but still don't think Windows Phone 8 or even 8.1 is quite ready for me. So I'm going to stick with my Note 3 or Nexus 5 (can't decide which I really want to use).

Never had a Macbook, so I'm already in the Windows camp with my Dell Latitude. Trying to use my Surface Pro more instead of the laptop, but the Surface Pro's form factor and keyboard really aren't nearly as good as the laptop for some things though. So the Dell Latitude stays.

I don't have any particular strong love for Apple, Google, or Microsoft, and haven't felt a need to unify my devices under one flag.

I seem to spend more time tinkering with my windows 8.1 PC to get it usable than with my Android phone. 🙁

Thought I was the only one! MS definitely lost me for about 3 years. All better now with only positive things coming up.

PC
Laptop
Tablet
Xbox One
Nokia 1020

I have 8.1 on all my PCs, though I don't use Metro.

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro, and found Metro to be surprisingly good for touch (easier to use than my Nexus 7).

I just ordered a Lumia 521 as a play-and-experiment device (it was only $60, unsubsidized). I'm too invested in the Google services ecosystem, and I really do like my Nexus 5, so the Lumia would just be for experimentation--I'm looking forward to giving WP 8.1 a spin after all the positive reviews.

I have a desktop that runs Windows for gaming, as far as I'm concerned my Windows ecosystem is complete.
HAHA, this. (Only in my case, it's an HTPC and a server.)

Nothing against Windows really- I just hardly see any need to go all Windows "just 'cuz." Trying to make MS into Apple as far as rabid fan loyalty to me seems a bit silly.

I certainly wouldn't mind a Surface Pro 2 or whatever is next.
