For some history on my wife and our two car garage, check out my previous thread on this issue.
Anyway, this time she was in hurry. So she hopped into her car, put it into reverse and slammed on the gas. Only the garage door was still closed! You can imagine the results.
I apologize for the lack of pics. I'm getting a digicam for sure now for the next time she does this!
The bottom half of the garage door was ripped away from the rails. The frame got bent as well. At least this time she didn't keep hitting the gas to try and keep going! ugh!
Both our cars were trapped in the garage, because my wife in her infinite wisdom decided to try to operate the garage door opener after she hit the door. It jammed the door real good! argh!
I was lucky today, I called a garage door company locally and they came out and managed to get the door out of the way of the cars. We have no door now, though. It will be monday before they can replace it. Yes, my wife damaged the door beyond repair. I'll be getting an estimate then.
I'm so frustrated I want to beat my head on a wall! ARGH!
Cliff Notes:
1) Wife backed into closed garage door.
2) Door damaged beyond repair.
3) I want to beat my head on something in frustration!
Update
Well, I got a quote to repair/replace the garage door.
$935 to repair
$898 to replace
I'm going to try to get a couple more quotes before making a decision.
Anyone think that quote is way off?
