My wife is refusing to update her Ipad min/Iphone 5 to iOS 7...

She hates the look of iOS7 and won't let me update her devices....lol. I updated my Iphone 4S and find it the new look "meh" compared to iOS 6.

Will she suffer any usability from not updating? How long can she stay iOS 6?

Yes. iOS 7. The new notifications and control centre alone are worth it. Plus I suspect within a year, a lot of developers will be going iOS 7-only, just like they did for iOS 6.

My wife felt the same way when she played with my devices on and off the past couple of months. She said she wasn't looking forward to it. Then I sat down with her and showed her some stuff that was in it. She got pretty excited about it. Especially the swipe up access to a calculator (she's an accountant).

It will basically come down to how much she likes and needs BiteSMS.

Upgrade to 10gb icloud storage for $20 a year. I know its bloodsucking, but its my fault as well for taking so many pictures of my cats.

I just came in here to comment on this.

The color looks good to me, but to a whole lot of people, it's just going to look exceptionally bright and possibly 'toy'-like. I mean I can see their direction with it, but everyone else might just see this bright, pastel colored phone. It's such a giant direction change from the way iOS looked previously. This is something that could cause outrage with many, many people.

I'm excited to put it on my fiance's iPhone 4S and her mom's iPhone 4. I wish I still had an iPhone 5 to play with the new OS.
