This living in here stomach.

Had a followup consultation after her bioposy came back positive for h. pylori. The scope showed a lot of inflammation in her stomach lining. She has to take high doses of two different antibiotics and something for acid reflux.

After 6 years of severe digestive discomfort and a lot of false diagnosii, maybe she can finally get this fixed.

Anybody else been diagnosed with a h. pylori stomach infection? Did you get ulcers from it? Did it happen to make you sensitive to anything with gluten in it?

update:
First 3 days she was feeling great. Fourth day and the ill side effects kicked in. Poor wifey. :(

Eating Coconut Oil can help the body kill that off.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for posting that but the doubters are free to look up the research and studies themselves to see.

Hope your wife feels better soon!

It took 6 years for a proper diagnosis?

Now that it's diagnosed, I hope she gets treatment ASAP and does well :)

I've had recurring acid-reflux for a long time... got tested for h. pylori last summer & it was negative. Reflux still comes back somtimes & I have to take Zantac or Pepcid for a couple months until symptoms improve, I'm supposed to get checked out again this coming summer.

Just looked it up - great, thanks. :) Will pick some of that up and start cooking with it, maybe make a salad dressing. I already ordered her some broccoli sprouts extract and mastic gum. Compounds in them are also supposed to kill h. pylori.

She'll start taking some accidolphus again after the antibiotics. She can't even eat yogut because modified food starch is derived from wheat, and she gets sick from it. H. pylori has no direct link to gluten sensitivity so I'm hoping she didn't develop a permanent allergy.

We've been through 4 different doctors. That last doctor finally sent us to a GI specialist and this guy is awesome.

Spoiled food?

Two thirds of the population have h. pylori in them, but it rarely causes a problem. They found out it is what causes ulcers. They're guessing you get it when you're an infant through oral to oral contact or fecal to oral contact. The doctor said it is not contagious, but I did read somewhere that you can burp it back up into your mouth and they live briefly, so I bet it can be passed by tongue kissing...

Her allergy will probably go away as she gets better and her body re-balances. Allergies that develop in adulthood are usually the result of lacking certain vitamins or nutrients and the body getting out of balance. If you're born with it or it develops early in life, it's more likely to be permanent.

The antibiotics are also going to kill some of the good bacteria in her gut. Keep an eye out for signs of yeast infection anywhere in or on the body. Avoiding sugar as much as possible will help lower the chances of developing a yeast infection.

She will undoubtably get a yeast infection, it happens every time she takes an antibiotic. I asked the doc if she coudl take Nyastatin, an antifungal, since we've suspected some of her symptoms to be associated with system yeast - but he said it wouldn't help her anyway because the acid reflux stuff will reduce her stomach acidity and make the Nyastatin ineffective.

References Coconut Oil again... it can help prevent yeast infections. Coconut Oil contains the most lauric acid of any natural source currently known. Lauric acid helps strip away the defenses of virii, making it easier for your body to kill them. This will help lessen the strain on her immune system so it can fight the yeast more. Also, Coconut Oil kills single cell bacteria (common in most yeasts) so it will fight that, too. It really is one of the most amazing foods on Earth. If she's willing, have her eat 2 to 4 tablespoons of pure virgin coconut oil everyday. Also, cook with it instead of other oils/butters.

BTW, as an aside, Coconut Oil is also the best natural source of MCFA (Medium Chain Fatty Acids). Your body converts these to energy very fast; boosting energy level, metabolism and the immune system.

Really though good luck to your wife, stomach ailments are always a bitch. Did you read the wikipedia page on this

I always think its a good idea to research medical ailments independently so you can interact with the doctor on a higher level.

accidolphus is very good stuff for treating problems such as these. :)

For a second there, I thought your were going to say for her to put the oil somewhere else to help the Yeast Infection... ;) Man I need to get my mind out of the gutter.
