My WD 120GB SE is making a moderately high pitched whining sound.....

I don't know what is with this, but I'll leave it off for a while, I'm contacting Western Digital, about the problem, and see what they say if anything at all. Jez when will copmanies get this stuff right? It's friggin brand new! It should work without problems, and i had a maxtor HD with problems and a replacement with more problems! Perhaps I need to check out seagate or somethin for HD's except there's cost more, so I just don't know!

Bah another thing that is annoying me about all this is reinstalling my stuff each time on the drives, it's not like a video card where all u gotta do is swap it, u gotta put all ur crap back onto it, it's just a pain in the ass!

I am interested in what WD has to say about the whine. My WD Non-SE 120gb makes that noise too.

I didn't really ask them about the whine, all I did was request an RMA. 3 years warranty, I figure what the heck, might as well make good use of it. All I know is that whine wasn't there for the previous 6 months that I've been using it. That sure isn't normal.....
