Just Canon and Nikon. Sony's lens lineup (besides the fast CZ glass) isn't very exciting.Originally posted by: ElFenix

It's looking like a heavyweight bout in the mid-range pro market:
Sony Alpha A900 - 24MP Full Frame
Canon 7D - 21MP Full Frame
Canon 3D/5D2 - 16MP Full Frame
Nikon D700 - 12MP Full Frame
I am glad I waited on my D700 purchase; most of my lenses are on standby to be sold in case I need to switch systems.
Things I'll look at: high ISO quality, speed, AF
I think it's a bit ridiculous to bother switching systems between Canon/Nikon if you already have good glass.
There really isn't going to be such a huge difference that I can imagine it being worthwhile.
i think he's got multiple systems
As I've said elsewhere Sony have been very careful all along not to call the A900 a Pro camera even whilst saying that it's capable of Pro results.Originally posted by: angry hampster
Perhaps, but I can't imagine the A900 will even be a viable option for professionals. There simply isn't enough support and equipment for that platform (yet).
