<< I feel sorry for anybody who would buy that beetle over a Viper. So it does 0-60 in 4.2? I bet the viper would make it its bitch around a track! >>

Actually, I would like to challenge that statement.

In a straight line, raw horsepower is NOT a typical VW quality. HP in VWs are typically under 200. VWs are, however, known for handling.

Albeit that aesthetically the Beetle looks like a silly little Pom Pom girl car (IMHO, nothing more), I doubt that the Viper stands a chance at all.

you're kidding right - the Viper was designed from the ground up as a sports car. And it very much shows it, with skidpad figures over 1g, and I'm sure it has no problem putting that power to the ground in the turns. Not only will a Viper wax this thing in the quarter, but it'll trash it as well out on a course.

I wanna mod my 87 scirocco 8v, but dunno how its gonna sound afterwards. The exhaust manifold from an 81 cabby will fit and its 2 to 1 (as opposed to 4 to 1 which is stock on my car). I know about vwvortex and thats where I have learned a lot about VWs.

Is your VR6 an A3 or A4? Dynomax makes good stuff. Thats an auto tranny on there?

HPK Beetle vs Stock Viper.

They would be even from 0-62. Viper would win the quarter mile by about .3 seconds. Beetle would murder the Viper in anything technical.

Stock vs Stock. Well I think everyone knows who's gonna win that. :D
