I bought this used off the FS/FT boards. I never asked the seller if it overclocked well. He never told me. Anyways...couldn't do more than 173MHZ stably...now it does 185MHZ stably.

lotta work for a damn video card. aside from bragging rights with your overclock, do they actually give you better framerates?

What work? You have to do the same amount of work to switch to another video card cooler anyways. These were just $6.50 a piece, including fans. The hardest thing about the jobbie, was scraping off the glue.

As for framerates...I don't play quake, or benchmark it. I stopped all that after I traded my SDR GeForce for this.

the 5500 reports a nice framerate increase when oveclocking

so if he was ble to get an extra 10 MHz out of it, then yes, it was quite useful
