My UT keeps freezing in both win2k and mandrake 8.2 :(

i have NO clue whats making it freeze =\
here is my setup:

AMD XP 1900+
EPoX 8k7a+
512mb corsair ddr pc2400
elsa geforce 2 gts
sb live x-gamer 5.1
wintv
nick
firewire
pioneer dvd 16x
lite-on 24x burner
zip 100


here is how its setup:

highpoint controller:
--pri master--win2k
--pri slave--mandrake 8.2
--sex master--backup files/storage
--sex slave--4 gig mp3 hd

on the onboard ide:
--pri master--lite-on
--pri slave--pioneer
--sec master--zip 100
--sec slave--nothing

=\ help pleassseeeeeee.. this is how it happens.. in windows: i load UT start game everything is peachy im raping away and boom the system locks and i have to restart. no blue screen, nada. this happens in OGL and D3D (if im forced to play in software rendering, i might as well not play 😛)

in linux: i open it up and its going awsssome!! im super happy.. start playing and it freezes, not kablamo! =\ and there is a noise coming from the speakers. a high pitch pig squeal 😀 😛

ive tried going to agp 2x from 4x and still boom! =\ what do you guys think? is it software related in bof cases or is there some hardware crappiness or interference? ANY (including shameless bumps) feed back is appreciated 🙂

Mandrake 8.2 has problem with highpoint Raid controller. Problem is solved in the cooker. Update your distro from MadrakeUpdate and you'll be all right.

i ran the mandrake update thinggy and there is nothing to update.. selected all the boxes and nada.. did it a couple of times to make sure..

that was my first instinct.. but i have 3 120mm fans spinning on the case right next to the video card..




this sounds faaaaaaar fetched, but when you run a game, and do all the extra rendering, does your video card pull more juice from the mobo -> psu? because with all the stuff i got in there maybe thats whats causing it. btw i have a enermax 431 w..

The update tool doesn't update from the Cooker. The Cooker has beta type stuff.
