UPS leaves it by the side door, Fedex leaves it on the front step or in the bushes. USPS leaves it in the mailbox or on top.

My wife has an ear for the mailman, so she told me the mailman had pulled up. I went to the blinds and peeked through and saw the UPS guy next door. He proceeded to get back in his truck, sat for about 1 minute, pulled up to our house, then got out, NOT WITH A PACKAGE, but WITH A SLIP which he put up on our door. I guess he didn't think anyone was home because our blinds were closed and the cars were in the garage, but I opened the door just as he was walking away and asked if he had a package for us. I saw that the slip on the door said that no one was home. I promptly told him what a jackass he was for not even attempting to take the package out of the damn truck. He looked like he was about to pee in his pants, apologized and grabbed our package. I hate UPS

The same thing happened to my sister. She saw him coming up the walk and started for the door. By the time she got there he was walking away and she had a note on the door. She had to yell at him to get him to stop, he then needed to go back to the truck and grab the package that he didn't even bother to bring with him when.

It's getting to the point where it's almost easier for me to just have the bastards hold my package and go pick it up. Their home delivery is almost useless.

This happened just a few days ago and it tripped me out.

I have a detached garage so I left out the front door to go to the garage, opened the garage door, did something in the garage for maybe 5 minutes or so, then I closed the garage door and walked back to the house.

I didn't see a delivery truck or nothing, but on my patio were two large packages from Amazon. I didn't see anyone walk up the lit driveway, or a truck drive down the street. My UPS guy really is a ninja.

My UPS guy knocks and rings and even yells. He is great.

My Fedex guy leaves the package and runs.

For a long time I would have packages shipped to my work. UPS/FedEx/USPS/DHL make multiple visits to the building each day, the mail room would always accept delivery and bring the package to my office. Unfortunately the company decided to ban personal deliveries due to abuse. The abuse was a single jackass employee who had a 65" television, a complete set of tires (5), and couch (yes, a fucking couch) delivered to the office. The mail room people complained and that was that, the entire building got a nasty gram from the facilities people stating personal deliveries would be refused from now on so don't bother. I'm an IT person so I get deliveries every day of some kind or another, sometimes huge deliveries (say 100 PCs and monitors, a copy machine or a dozen servers) so I could probably keep getting personal packages without anyone knowing but I don't like to rock the boat.

So now I have everything delivered to office at my condo complex. They're open 7-7 and have staff in there all day. They're pleasant folks and are always happy to accept packages. This way I don't have to deal with ninja delivery people and pickup the package after work.

That happened to me once with USPS. I was sitting in the living room waiting for a package and they just put a note on the door... never even rang the bell or anything. Was the package too heavy for them to carry to my door?
