My uncle is dead....and his wife killed him

Unfortunately, as far as we know she cremated him very fast. Like within 2 days. The hospital was totally useless for information. Everything we would ask them they would say we needed her permission to get the information. Who took the body? When was it taken? Any medical records or information? Nope, you must ask the wife to give permission first.
 
also, call the insurance company at once. you can say that she committed fraud by knowing that he was going to die before she took out the policy. they will investigate it.

Unfortunately he was cremated already..but don't hospitals typically conduct autopsies regardless? Maybe they have a blood sample somewhere..?

Insurance companies will fight to great lengths not to pay. Generally that is a pain in the ass; in your case it is a great asset.
 
What the hell kind of insurance company would cover a guy in as bad a shape as he was in?

She'll never collect on that policy.

Autopsies are not performed by default. Many religions prohibit the desecration or a corpse. In all likelyhood, as the wife, the murderer could have requested one not be done.

Hopefully, the hospital has blood samples in cold storage. Hopefully, the cops can subpoena the samples and preform toxicollogy tests.

I would hope so. I thought they may have performed an autopsy for a suspicous death..would think the EMTs would notice the situation as being a little sketchy.
 
Wow, that's messed up straight-outta-Hollywood type stuff right there. It sounds like any number of Sherlock Holmes stories that I've read. Crazy!
 
By the way. I made a little website in his honor. It's not much at all, but it's all I could do since there is no grave or anything.

When I see his picture it still doesn't compute that he's gone. He was a great guy, I will miss him a lot.

i think this may be a good idea to get things going (it may be a slow process to deal with the DA's office but that, too, is the right place to start).

edit: also, if she was as nasty/psycho as you said, the hospital should have suspected something (esp. when she demanded to check him out against the doctors' recommendations). im surprised the hospital couldn't have done more or didn't talk to police...
 
Contact an attorney immediately to file an action to invalidate the will. Contact the DA or state police about the suspicious circumstances so they will make sure there's an autopsy.
