ok, well my biz used to run a setup that looked like that...we did 3 gigs w/ the whole trellis and everything, then realized taking 3 hours to setup for one gig was insane and having to take that much equipment for one gig was even more insane.
anyways, hope you enjoy all that, i now take 2 peavey spg-2 speakers, a set of subs if the room is exceptionally large, a 3 - 5 light show on a single stand (forget the trellis) and my portable rig - depending on which one i take consists of a gemini or mackie board, peavey cosmos crossover, gemini or denon cd players, and either a peavey 1800 watt amp or a crown 2000. if i bring the subs, i take an extra peavey 2500 watt amp.

sorry for the post crap, just seems like you're doing alot of extra work for nothing to me....u will get paid just as much if u don't take all that, as long as it sounds good to the customers, it matters not

The par cans are an okay effect, but have you looked into getting any intelligent lighting effects yet?

Two intelligent scanners can replace your entire Par setup, and save time with install...

I had a decent Martin rig back in the stone age; the biggest expense was the controller... ADJ would be fine for smaller venues.

With the multiple colors and the gobos, you can drop some jaws.

Just my 2 cents, or with the economy today, about 1/3 a penny ;)

Very nice, glad to see you enjoy entertaining people too.

I'm starting to wind down after doing it since 1975.

Pics are at ParkAve DJ Pics

Typical Christmas Party with full dance floor and showering them with bubbles, bubble machine mounted on each tower speaker.

Spent the winters of 1993 and 1994 converting 1,100 Albums to CD.

I built the Console in 1975, it takes a beating and keep's on licking.

I still have an original Teac Cassette deck in the Console if anyone ever hands me a tape to play such as when I have a guest singer but most singers have their songs on CD now, haven't seen a tape in at least 2 years.

Light tower was standard 4 light Mini Par that I mounted brackets on bottom as well as top and added 2 lights. Added Club type strobe and red Police Beacon.

I made the 25 ft wire cable snake. Ran one large guage Nuetral wire and a wire for each light to a box that I velcro to the back of the strobe and then plug in the plugs for the lights and then crank the tower up. Other end of snake goes into Box I wired and colored coded to match the lights plugged in on Tower. Box is then controlled by a Controller I rewired. I can put in in Automatic mode or manual. I normally have it in manual mode and I switch the lights on and off myself to the music.

Amp is a Mackie.

Speakers are from Gem Sound in New York.

Can set up in 20 minutes and break down in 15 minutes or less.

Actually I'm going to look into getting 2 laser effect lights and some things like that...

The current setup, while nice, is taking a long time to setup (still only about an hour & 1/2 setup time which isn't bad at all considering each strobe light has a controller cord also)

I'm looking into karaoke, probably going to get that this summer.

I have some improvements to make on my table. I'm going to cut out a big hole in the front, then I'm going to attach a piece of plexiglass, and then behind that I'm going to have another piece of plexiglass with my logo on it, and then have some lights behind it, maybe some intelligent lights and move with the music... not for the audience's pleasure, for mine.

At some point almost all of my equipment will be mounted in my table. I'll add some pics of the back side of the table (this is when I didn't have the cerwin vega but you get the idea)

Okay animated gif's, scrolling text, and an ugly background.
That website needs an upgrade to take it out of the 1997 era.

I gotta do some more to pay off the other $1000 I owe for the cerwin vega... after that I will.

besides, I'm not even 18 yet, I can hang on to this stuff and use it for many years to come.

I was thinking the same thing.. Martin's have tumbled in price, and you can use just about any old cheapie DMX Controller (American DJ comes to mind). The MX-1 can be had for under $400 each, you could even get some custom Gobo's cut for 'em! Maybe even just some Color Changers. The Ego's are pretty cheap (around $200-$250), and pretty cool for what they do.
I say your system still looks pretty damm good for your first. Better than anything I had when I started doing live sound 18 years ago!

True, I am not the most creative of HTML coders. I'm a hardware kind of person, I'm lucky I can post any kind of code up.

However many sites get too busy and too graphic. I try and make it so you can hit print to get useful info.

Some day hopefully I'll be able to afford to pay someone to my websites a bit more fancier but still will not want it overdone either.
