I assume that "From dusk till dawn" is not in your "most" list. :)
Anyway, Solaris is boring but with a good ending.

I liked it alot actually.....very thought provoking. You have to draw your own conclusions though b/c it's not wrapped in nice tidy package like most people prefer. (If you're stupid and/or like stupid movies [ie Bad Boys 2], don't watch this).

I do not like stupid movies. I watch more indie or foreign movies than I do blockbusters.
This one just bored me for some reason.

I expected more from Soderbergh after Traffic and The Limey were both excellent

I guess without having read the book (most popular book by a Polish author, I believe) and having seen the first screen adaptation of it, it is hard for people to understand and appreciate this great film, having been tricked by the marketing campaign to perceive this film as Sci-Fi when it's not.

O' Brother was a great movie.

Solaris was pretty well done too.. it was slow but good. Music ws great too.. especially the part with him at the party looking at his wife.

It was slow but the ending has kinda left me thinking what really happened. I almost wish it was better explained, sometimes I hate being left wondering even if it is thought provoking.

I thought the film was utter crap. Really didn't like it.

First time at the movie I *slept* in. Probably didn't help the day before I didn't sleep so well. Still I found the moving boring and it didn't keep me intrigued or wanting to follow it.

Scientific errors in "Solaris": onboard the orbiting space station, gravity is "normal". Should be: weightless.
If there is supposed to be artificial gravity (like in 2001 Space Odyssey), why doesn't the space station spin?
Also not explained: how does the astronaut travel to another solar system, in so short a time period?
Is there "faster than the speed of light" telecommunications between the space station and earth?
So, "Solaris" is more a fantasy movie, than a science fiction movie.

OMIGOD!! I sat through this turd last night. Did Clooney even read the script before signing onto this one? Don't tell me that this is an art house movie either with the gratuitous butt shots of Clooney. That part made me sick.

The funny thing is that I was channel surfing after watching Solaris and started watching the Adventures of Pluto Nash with Eddie Murphy. I had heard that this was a lousy movie and I will have to admit that I wasn't great. I can also safely say that after watching Solaris, it was a great f*cking movie! ;)

It was thought provoking, you just have to be patient....the message is cool.

I dunno, I still didn't get it. I think though that the message is that if you are in love and you take all that is bad away after death, you still have love.

I think its a love after death thing.. I dunno I'd be interested in others opinions....

For me, the message was that reality is subjective, and life means what you want it to mean. You see this theme appear in all three character developments.

Too bad it was about as entertaining as watching my carpeting grow.

Keep in mind, this is a Russian based film...so there's always that element of focus on imagery while glossing over other details like plot, which is important to the majoriy of audiences.

I read the book. It was translated from polish and was written by the author of one of my favorite short stories: "How Erg the Self-Inducting Slew a Paleface" or something to that effect; brilliant peice. Stanislaw Lem I think?

Solaris was was just like reading about philosophers masturbating though, big disappointment. They should have made movies out of his short stories.
