Why doenst M&M attack African-Americans and jews or Hispanics in his music?
Why does he only target Women and Gays?

to go a step further since he has sold millions of copies of records are the people saying its ok to attack women and Gays?

If he did decide to start attcking the other groups will his record sales go up or down?

sorry no white artist would survive if he had words like ni**er, sp*ck or je*boy in his lyrics. but calling women b*tches and whores or rapping about raping your mother and killing your wife, or attacking the homosexuals is perfectly ok, just look at his record sales for proof.

Because he doesn't have a problem with these groups. What makes you single out these catagories?

<< Why does he only target Women and Gays? >>

The only woman he talks about in his music is his wife. And he doesn't bash gays, he merely mentions them in just about every song of his :)

I had no ideas that M&M's had those kind of views towards women and gays although I did have immediate suspicions of that blue M&M.

Do you happen to know if it's just the plain M&M's or are the peanut and almond ones in on this to? Guess I will have to boycott and not eat them anymore.

Why don't people realize that eminem is a character played by marshall mathers.

Take the plot of American History X, now put that into a song. What would happen in that situation?? Moral outrage by just about everyone.

What makes music different from books, movies, poems, paintings, or any other artistic expression. Why is music the only thing that everyone takes literally?

Smiz, you make a very good point. Poems, books and movies have been made about murder, rape, and all sorts of morrally unacceptable subjects. But people like targeting rap and hip hop because they think that these people still do what they say in their music. Granted, some talk about what they are about, but 90% of the stuff they talk about is either in their past or made up. Makes no sense to me why people bash them for glorifying violence, just cause they speak the truth. But of course, if anyone in rock mentions violence, it's perfectly ok.

It's Eminem not M&M

Jeez, if you know enough about his music, I'd figure you'd know enough to spell his name :p

If you don't want to listen to it, don't listen then. It's as simple as that. These threads are pointless cause people talk crap about something they don't want to listen to in the first place. Stick with what you like and just shut up. :|

Sorry bout this, but this happens on TV alot and it never gets brought up like this, or criticized, etc. Or someone who just won't turn it off if they don't like it. Just pisses me off.

shinerburke,

The plain ones are okay. The Peanut and Almond ones can be trusted,
but they're a little nutty on the inside. Its the crunchy ones that
you have to watch out for (I think they're mutants). Also it is
a good idea to keep those blue ones in line until they earn thier
keep.

I just wish Mars corp would bring back the minty ones.

Oh, and if you want this topic to be about that other eminem, shouldn't
we change the subject header a bit? I've heard in one of his songs he
says the stuff about the Green ones is true.

Warcleric, it's more along the lines of saying that you don't want you kid listening to the stuff, then not doing anything about it. Parents are the #1 influence on their children, whether its imposed or by example. There's too many damn people out there complaining about stuff their kids are exposed to. It's not forced exposure, so it's always the parent's choice to allow their children to do/watch/or listen to something. So if you sit back and bitch about whats out there, you're asking everyone else to modify what you're doing, just cause you don't know how to discipline your kid. I think that's what he was getting at :)

dabuddha,

The song(s) where he mentions raping his mother are "Kill you" and in a round-a-bout way in "I'm Back", both of which are on the Grammy Winning(tm) CD "The Marshall Mathers LP"

As for the originator of the threads comments, I would have to disagree.

The reason he does not disparage other minority groups is because he has no issues with them. First off, he disparages women because he has (allegedly) had a rough time with his wife and mother. As for the gay-bashing, he really doesn't bash gays on his albums, its more like he pokes fun at them saying "dont grab my ass" and stuff like that.

All this leads to one point. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

The answer to that question is that Eminem can't attack the african americans, he'd be in more trouble than people not buying his records, I don't know if you remember Tupac or Notorious B.I.G. but seems to me that they got in trouble and where killed, just imagine if a wigger like Eminem steped out and stared insulting african americans, he'd be capped before he even sold the first album. It's common sense, you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

But if we can hump dead animals and antelopes
then there's no reason that a man and another man can't elope

The question that begs to be asked, is why does always diss artists like Will Smith and NSync that he knows can't do anything to him lyrically?
