My Temps Have Gone Up <.<

So I bought myself a retail E6550 about last October, and left it at standard clock speeds. Temps were fine, around 31C idle and maybe 55-60 load in a Centurion 5 Case.

Last May I experimented with OCing a little and got my chip to 2.8GHz on stock voltage (1.350V) stable. Temps went up to like 45-48C idle, and I decided to turn it down to 2.5GHz to see what would happen. Temps were at 40C idle at 2.5GHz, at 1.350V. Thus ended my couple hours of experimenting with OCing. I put everything back to stock at 2.33GHz, and bam. My temps were a little higher than normal.

I first attributed this to it being summer and a lot warmer than when I first put the chip in, back when I was getting 30C idle because it was 30F out or less, every day :p However even with AC on, my temps are still 5-10 degrees warmer than normal. Every setting is back at what it was when I first got my parts

-Gigabyte P35 DS3L (non energy-efficient nonsense one)
-E6550 with stock Intel HSF, Arctic Silver 5 paste
-CM Centurion 5 Case

I highly doubt its because of the Arctic Silver wearing out, as that stuff ain't no cheap glue that loses its potency after 8 months, but I've got no idea why my temps have decreased. Voltages are back to normal, clock speed is back to normal. What's going on?

You have nohing to worry about. No real reason for hte temp change but its not like your in danger of burning up the CPU.

It's probably just that the ambient has gone up. AS5 doesn't really go bad unless the seal is broken after it cures.

So what , with the AC on, you have the room now at the same temperature you had it in the middle of the winter? I don't think you do. The temperatures went up because your room temp went up as well.
