My table salt is better than your table salt

My table salt is gluten free! Says so right on the carton.

The label is silent on glass shards, razor blades, and AIDS infected monkey brains. Maybe I should worry.

LOL, most table salt is gluten free I would think...

the reason why they list it on something like that is because some products have their lines dusted with wheat, either for that product or for other products that were previously ran on that line. Even small amounts of gluten can cause problems.

more likely their marketing wizards saw that other producers were labeling their shit 'gluten free' and saw that it cost them nothing to add those words.

after all what salt factory doubles as a bread bakery?

my salt is not a significant source ofcalories from fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, or sugar. It also supplies iodide, a necessary nutrient. This stuff must be really good for you, I should eat it by the spoonful.

They should have some fun and slap a "100% uranium-free!" label on there.

Then watch in amusement as all the other salt marketers follow suit.

Not all salts have Iodide which is vitally important, especially to those with thyroid issues, pregnant, or women who are thinking about becoming pregnant.

I think a lot of the sea salts have iodide naturally occurring from the environment.

They should make the serving size smaller so that they can claim it contains no sodium. 🙂 (i.e. pure fat cooking sprays that contain no fat)
