My Subaru WRX died on the road yesterday

They didnt say (or admit) that it was broke. Subaru (corporate) got back to me, said they talked to the dealer, I should get the car back next Tuesday or Wednesday, they are waiting for a couple of pulleys to come in. They also said that since this is not typical, they want to provide some goodwill assistance - said they would discuss this next week once I got my car back. What do you guys recommend I suggest?

New car.
 
Why replace the whole car (which is probably perfectly fine) when they could just throw in a new motor and call it a day? Seems fair.
 
2010 model with 24,000 miles on the clock? I don't think a new car is warranted, unless the car is a potential lemon. Has it been in/out of the shop?

I'd see if I could get some kind of extended warranty out of them.
 
Coverage on motor only for 200k - this isn't 'goodwill' this is because you're concerned that the motor has been damaged.

Coverage on vehicle for +20k over factory warranty - this is goodwill.
 
So I picked up the car today, this is what they did/replaced: timing belt, timing belt tensioner, oil pump reseal, water pump, all idler pulleys, 4 cam sprockets, all 4 timing belt guides, and the outer T-cover. Compression test was successful/normal.

I talked to Subaru of America after I picked up my car, and I was able to negotiate 1 month of my lease payment and bumper to bumper warranty till 45k (with $50 deductible).
 
Actually they upped the warranty to 60K. Its nice to have, but dont really need it since I'm not going to buy it out in 1.5 years when my lease runs out.
