My Spider, My Friend!

TRUMPHENT

Golden Member
No pics available. Little but fast growing jumping type spider just nailed a big house fly on the bathroom window. It seems to be finding enough to eat because it has grown rapidly over the last month or so. When I first discovered it, it was so small that it was almost invisible.

Webs? He don' need no stinkn webs! He or she is rapidly growing out of that cute puppy spider phase.

Die flies! Fly to the window where death awaits! Let me introduce you to my little friend.

I would like spiders a helluva lot more if they would stay out of places like a) the shower b) the area of my ceiling directly over my pillow c) anything I might open that they would feel compelled to jump out of suddenly.

We got big a$$ wasps that kill tarantulas. We were sitting outside one day, and we saw the wasp walking on the ground, dragging the body of a tarantula behind him. Scary sh!t.

OMG! This thing is still smaller than FDR's head on the dime.

Just checked, the spider is still wuffng down the fly. It has moved to a more secluded part of the window frame for dinner.

Apologies to Mr. T, I pity the fly that lands on my spider's window thinking I will pity it and open the window.

During the summers my home is infested with mosquitoes. I always let the spidres on one corner of my room live (web and all). During the night I direct my desk light in that corner...the little squitoes don't know any better.

Not so! Flies are always flying around in apparently random patterns. When the flight path suddenly encounters a door that was closed but is temperarily open, enter the Fly.

This is what I call pre-summer in South Florida. The spider and I are going to have long and benefiical relationship. 😛

Was it something like this?

Tarantula Hawk

Smaller and more red. Wings weren't that big. Our dog tried to sniff it, and it got in an attack stance and started flapping it's wings :Q I grabbed the dog and ran like hell.

Sure as can be! I am catastrophically nearsighted and had to look over my glasses to get really good view. It was beautiful.

Not even close. This is a little ground dwelling grayish hairy creature.

Hmm, comparing SI to LI... interesting. We make fun of crooklyn and statenisland all the time. How's the smell over there on SI these days ? Still got a landfill or three ? 😀
