I never realized the releative size until now.

Every time I see those speakers I want to dry hump them.
Damn those things look good.

Yeah, I didn't think about it too much reading the specs either. When I saw this pic when browsing the gallery I was shocked.

I think I'm auditioning the new JMlab-Focal Profile bookshelves on Friday, I can't wait...the new tweeter should be awesome, but I'm a little leery (sp?) as I've come to love "softer" tweeters in the last 2 years...anyway, congrats again...and get to work, set em up!

Jmlabs? :Q

GREAT taste.

hehe, so I've read...but I can't say that VMPS has a bookshelf that I'm really interested in. My system will still be hovering around $10K as I'm mostly upgrading in terms of speakers but going from a full tower to bookshelves...don't have as much to spend on this stuff as I used to.

VMPS has the 626r. Check out the pics: LINK

For FYI's, go to this VMPS forum: VMPS Forum

For VMPS Q&A, email John Casler at: bioforce.inc@gte.net. The guy is really knowledgeable about VMPS products. He's also a dealer that can give great discounts.

Check the 11th and 12th pics down -- RM40 MLS Rosewood and African Ebony. Something hilarious about seeing the VMPS cabinets standing in front of a big stack of Rockets! :D MLS does have his hand in just about everything.

Well, I hooked them all up and they all work... plus the Pioneer 1014 works too :)

I can't turn it up though because it's 3:35am and my sister is working at the zoo today (meaning she has to get up at 4:45am)

I'll crank it today though and see how the 1014 handles things.

I set it to 6ohm mode after downloading the manual and looking it over. I also reset everything to factory default to get rid of whatever crap happened to the settings at Best Buy.

I was having trouble finding the 1014 manual from Pioneer, but then I remembered that it has the same internals as the Elite 52, so I got the manual from that one and everything that's in that one appears to apply to mine.

Congrats on the Rockets! I can't believe I missed this thread.

Break the speakers in for a while before making any judgements. The guys at AV123 are great, they'll help you with any issues you have.

Yeah, I've sent them... let's see... 19 e-mails . They've been really great helping me with everything.

I asked Sean about the receiver issue and he said they'd both be great options but the 1014 is probably a slightly better choice.

Are you shocked that you missed it because you have Rockets yourself? I'd love to hear anything you'd have to say about them even though I already bought mine :)

I don't have rockets but I have been following them since they were first introduced. I have be able to listen to them and they are very nice speakers. I'd love to hear a pair of their reference speakers some day.

Cool.

What are you running now?

I know I've said this before, but I honestly think these speakers are going to last me a long time. I'd have to drop some serious cash to get something significantly better than these (like the reference series) :p

Did I ever tell you I own Onix Ref 1's in a smaller room? Those are some awesome bookshelf speakers with a GREAT finish that MLS is an expert at! :D

I don't remember hearing that.

What kind of finish did you get? I'm incredibly happy with the rosewood finish on mine.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of pictures of the reference series and it seems like most people opt for the birdseye. Looks pretty nice, but I don't think it really appeals to me too much. Unless the pictures are way off, I think it's too bright for my tastes.

Thats probably the only complaint I could find about them though ;)

So that's just for music listening for you?
