A bit off topic but this thread is a good proof that people can be polite, constructive and helpful while laughing a bit about the situation...all without being a$$holes.

Great thread with a great outcome!

On topic: Grats on the self repair OP!

The polar vortex has even chilled the cynicism and snark of the internet.

Solution: only compete in things that play to your advantages in life that you can dominate in. No point in wasting time getting angry throwing youself against something you have no hope in winning.

No, not Korean.

If we're in the US, is it even possible to play matches outside the US?
I figured this game was so timing related, that the ping would make it worthless.

Just a fyi but no, the game is region locked (at least it was last time I played over a year ago). With the NA version, you'll only play with people on that server. There was a lot of complaining about this when the game was released.

He's 16, and is incredibly mild.
Quiet.

To say that his mother and I were surprised and disappointed was an understatement.

I talked to him an hour after the incident, and he was just in a major feeling sorry for himself state, claiming he isn't good at anything. (Claiming he wasn't good at baseball when he was clearly a good player, amongst other things.)

He has put a LOT of time into SC2, continuously watches streams of top players playing, reading key forums etc.

He told me "I've put so much time into the game, and I still suck."
Which can't be true because he's Gold or Platinum or whatever the next to the top rank is.

There's some growing up going on in the house this week, that's for sure.

Ah, Blizzard. Raising kids and preparing them for the real world.

OP should start(hopefully it's not too late) to teach him some real matters, such as you can't be top all the time, perfectionist, and you can only be happy with something

dude it's just matter of time when your son runs into some disaster

this is what's wrong with a lot of millenial theorists. They have to be a unique wonderful star and stand out, be #1, be the best, and be happy all at the same time.

It's a lot of unnecessary pressure.

I'm pretty sure you can switch regions in StarCraft II.

This is true.

SC2 is a different type of beast. No other game can induce rage in me than SC2 can. I literally lol'd when I read the OP. Ah.... reminds me of my life.

It is very possible to be consumed with uncontrolled rage but yet, be controlled and reasonable when it comes to all other matters of life. I am currently on a SC2 break bc of my last ragefest lol.

There are more important things in life to develop skills in and get frustrated with in the process.

I'd force the kid to take a break for at least a week to re-evaluate.
