I'm not super dark but do tan well enough and am usually brownish even in winter. Generally it takes quite a bit to sun burn me, as in many hours on the beach. Kinda nice not to have to worry about it too much. ^_^

Actually, I was making a joke about race relations in America.

I went hiking with an Asian friend yesterday, she seems to think it is funny that whenever we spend time outside that I have to pour sunscreen all over myself.

She even said, "Did your mother teach you to do that to yourself when you were a little boy? hahah!"

I tell her bad things happen to me if I do not apply it. I can endure jokes about it to avoid the sunburn. She has not been around white people long enough to realize the consequences of our delicate skin being exposed to the sun for too long.

We keep the sunburn away with either sunscreen or body armor.

Both of my parents are white. I'm not pale like them.
I hate to break it to you, but your real daddy might not be who you think it is. Two whites do not make a mulatto.

Yea you northerners (white people) aren't too fond of UV radiation.

Some Ornamentals like sun and some don't. It's weird. My Ornamental mom is white like a whitey, my dad is super dark.

I like how white people tan to be darker and dark people use lighteners to be more white.. lol

A friend of mine who's Chinese told me a funny story about being lathered in geisha makeup at a wedding over there. She had been on vacation from the tropics and they thought she was too tanned. My girlfriend, who is also Chinese, doesn't like to get tanned. She doesn't go out of the way to avoid the sun or anything.

Me and my dad tan pretty well. My mom just burns though.

I am usually a very light brown/pink. I don't think I've ever gotten a sunburn before, not even as a kid. Nowadays, I'm so paranoid about teh skin cancers, I either put on a sweater, even when it's hot as hell, or slather some sun screen on. Even then, I still dodge the sun if possible.

IIRC, being dark brown/black only provides a natural SPF of 5-10. Better than nothing, but it's no license to dump sunscreen.

lol another pasty checking in. My tan is most people's normal. And as for paleness being considered unattractive... yeah. Keep telling yourselves that. I know a few chicks who would disagree. :)
