So my son started a speech class since last fall. He's 4 years old. During recess, they sometimes interact with Kindergarteners who are slightly older.

He's been learning some bad words from school. It used to be words like "idiot" or "stupid" cuz the older kids would call him that during recess, but lastnight took the cake. He called my wife a "pussy".

We had to dicipline him, but I can't believe they're picking up such trash from school. :|
 
I feel for ya. My 7 year old calls me a stupid dumba$$. He gets a visit from the soap dispenser whenever he says something like that.

Get used to it, it's pretty much par for the course.

Don't let him get away with it, he doesn't have to turn out like them.

But he will be exposed to it from here on out (unless you home school him).

the guy i work with, his 3 or 4 year old son (not sure exact age) said

"aww for f*ck sakes" once, when his dad told him No.

Exactly! There needs to be repocusions! Don't let him slide on this, or he'll be walking all over you and the "pussy" for the rest of your lives.
 
Sit him down and teach him why calling people names like that is not nice. It hurts people's feelings, etc.
 
Before disciplining him did you sit him down and ask him what he thought the word meant? Kids of that age are still very much like parrots.
 
Did he use it in the right context? If so I would be worried, else he is just saying it and not knowing what it means
 
A few years back when my oldest son was around 9 he didn't realize "bastard" was not a word he should be using on a regular basis. He was playing with his soldiers outside and saying things to the effect of "you bastard" to the other soldier. I found it pretty amusing because I knew he didn't understand that was one of those words he can't walk around saying at his age. We still joke about it every now and then.

What comes out of the really young kid's mouths these days is disturbing. Kids are exposed to so much at an early age it really is innocence lost. Of course kids will be kids but some have filthy mouths already in grade school.

my 7 year old comes home from school and tells me when hes heard words like that. its funny. he will spell it out cause he knows better than saying it!

LOL. Although I certainly could swear around my parentswhenever I wish since I am one year older than you, I still very, very rarely do. It'sone of those odd things that I don't feel comfortable doing. Amazing considering my mom swears like a truck driver. I use colorful language around others (not with the kids present) just not with them.

This also reminds me of A Christmas Story when Ralphy is helping his dad change the tire and he drops the F bomb and his mom goes ballistic 😀
 
I remember the first time I swore in front of my parents at the dinner table. It was like god hit the mute button. Scary stuff.

Remember Ivory is OK, Lava soap is F'ing cruel.

I asked him to tell me.
He said yeah the word is "stupid".

I love my untarnished clean cut boy. And love his school even more, no pussy talk there. Well not yet😱

CPA Do you really use the soap on him, and if so does he continue to bad mouth you?

Personally my parents had a high tolerance for cursing. As later teenagers we could let "f**k" slip out semi-frequently if we had to. I'm not saying that was good, but we never called our parents anything bad. That was a no-no.
