Agree that someone has been cutting your vodka with water. Given that vodka is typically 40% alcohol, it shouldn't be freezing unless your dorm freezer goes to -30 C or so.

That vodka has had water added. I've seen vodka turn to a bit of slush when I was a teen and we hid our stash in a ditch culvert. In the middle of winter on a 25 below day I had a slushy mix, but never solid. A freezer damn well can't hit more than 20 below!

According to http://www.popsci.com/popsci/science/article/0,12543,236081,00.html Ethanol freezes at -117C.

If your dorm freezer can do -30C I'd be extremely impressed...-20C is much more likely...

Since Vodka is about 40% Ethanol...lets just pretend the other 60% is water...and do a simplisitic 40% of -117...you're still looking at about -50C

Long story short, there is no chance in hell your Dorm Freezer can freeze a bottle of Vodka solid.

I'm with the guys that think someone has been tapping your vodka and filling it with water.

All the liquor sites are blocked by my work proxy, how much does a bottle of GOOD vodka cost? I know the Bombay Sapphire we buy runs $25 a bottle, & the Absolut is around the same... But they're nowhere near 1.75L either.

smirnoff isn't half as bad as karkov or burnetts... now thats cheap (9 bucks a 1.75 up here) i think my roomie just paid something like 30-35 for a bottle of kettle one (not sure of the size, looks pretty small...)

You have Scotch and Tequila in your freezer? You shouldn't spend that kind of loot on good liquor if you don't know how to properly serve it.

Actually no. It's a single malt distilled in the Orkney Islands north of Scotland. About $35 for 0.75L. I've never even seen it in a 1.5L.

Man...We could have so much fun with the Skyy and the Captain Morgan's...I'd like to try Jager again, and see if it would stop being my personal bane...One bad experience...Oh well.
