Hey guys, I just purchased a new case and heatsink. It is a Codegen Group case and a Zalman 120mm heatsink. I put it all together normally (taking all precautions) and when I went to boot up, it would only take a small bit of power.

I didn't take this issue very seriously. I assumed it was something with the power panel for the case power button. I finally assured that it was the correct spot and it was still doing the same thing. So I removed all my components one by one. Somewhere along the line the system was getting FULL power. So I put everything back in and when I went to boot, it did the same thing.

I repeated my above process but it was no luck. The fans only spin about half an inch, and my LEDs only light up for a split second. I am down to the bare motherboard and it is still not going. I noticed my northbridge is almost too hot to touch after trying to power the system a few times.. why?

I also tried another power supply, and it did the same thing.

Somebody please help me! (system specifications below)

Do you have the additional line plugged into the mobo for your video cards?

You have posted this in at least three sections of the Forums. Please avoid cross-posting in the future, it's a faux pas.

Edit: and to start with, get a reputable brand of power supply (Antec TruePower 2.0 550W perhaps) and make sure all three power connectors are plugged in: 24-pin main, 4-pin square ATX12V, and the EZ-Plug (four-in-a-row HDD-style plug). And ensure that your motherboard is mounted on standoffs.
