the laws against this are severe, document the hours and she'll get paid in the end and the employer will get fvcked

So it looks like the problem is the store manager.

The assistant manager complained over her head to corporate about this practice. She got wind from corporate and chewed him out. It is still going on.

Well, hopefully it clears up in her favor and everyone working hours without pay will receive just compensation for their time.

Apparently there are like 100 employees at this gas station. 50 go along with this bullshit. They make like $8.50 an hour.

I want to meet this store manager, see what sort of person she is...

This is pretty frustrating.

My sister is young. She has her first job at a gas station.

I tried to find her a better job, but anyways.

It has come to my attention that she has been working without pay. What happens is that at the end of her shift, the boss will ask her to stay and do dishes or whatever.

She works off the clock.

She's making like 9 bucks an hour or whatever, and it isn't more than an hour, but still, it's the principle of the thing. This also causes the person who has come to pick her up to wait, often for half an hour or whatever, while she works off the clock.

The problem is that she does this because

1. She's afraid of losing the job. I mean, she's proud of the job.

2. Everyone else there does it.

This is enraging because she's learning all the wrong lessons here. She's letting herself be intimidated, she's going along with the crowd.

What to do?

Do you have any laws of there to protect against unlawful sacking in a job!, cause if you do, she should be staying only if the boss is prepared to pay, or it sates in her contract that she is expected to stay until all defined work in completed!

Two people walk in, obviously recording on their phones.

"So, you're the manager? I hear you make people work for free at the end of their shifts."

"Buh, uh, buh, but, I..."

"Do you want this to go on Youtube?"

"Buh, uh..."

"DO YOU WANT THIS TO GO ON YOUTUBE? YES OR NO."

"......no."

"Then stop it. Or we'll be back."

Stop recording, look him in the eye for a moment, and walk out.
