This is just hard to believe. today, I went to check out what is she wants to get. it was a nice civic until I saw that was a friiking stick!!!

she never learned how to drive one and I don't think she is capable. she took the road test 3 times until she passed and got her license. her driving sucks, that's all I can tell.

how do I convince her not to buy this car?

show her 5 shift girl and tell her that's the only way you can change gear manually.

driving stick makes you a better driver. it's a closer connection with the car. if anything this should increase her all around driving skills.

negative ... I dunno how many of my friends switched to stick after a few years of driving and ended up with 3 - 5 wrecks that year. Maybe in the long run it does but not at first.

Let me know if she needs a One-on-One stick driving lesson. No charge if she's a quick learner.

omg... i love manual trans!!! i soooo prefer it. i was looking at a car yesterday, with a view to buy...i LOVED the car, but it was automatic.

i know i am gonna get sooooo flamed for this... but i think girls have more trouble with manual transmissions than guys do.

I don't understand this.

WTF is it with the USA and automatics?

Driving with gears is a lot safer than automatics, and you are in more control of the car as you can asses where the power is.

Pulling away with a clutch is a piss of piss. A little gas, lift off the clutch, when the revs begins to drop a little - then add more gas - and you are away. It is NOT rocket science.

Don't convince you rsiter NOT to get it, instead CONVINCE your sister to get it as it will teach her to drive properly

I can understand someone liking to drive a stick more than an automatic, but I cannot FATHOM someone who can't drive an automatic well being able to drive a stick any better. Perhaps she has no business being on the road.
