I didn't want to be part of a social media network like Facebook. Facebook is just people posting lots of random crap I don't care about and too many people arguing politics. So instead I made an account on AT Forums and posted in General Discussion and P&N. Waaayyy better than Facebook. /sarcasm

So, facebook requires you to use your real name, even if you're not impersonating someone else? I didn't know that.

I have a dummy account, only so I can browse, follow some news, etc. Just a name I made up, with no background, schools, workplace, etc. If it got deleted tomorrow I wouldn't give a damn.

Yea thats bull crap even my cat has a FB account. I don't use it on my phone.

What I did was turn off all of my "friends" and I don't like shit that I am not actually interested in. This way my "feed" is just news from sources I'm interested in. I can be a member of various groups, use the event system, and messenger.

It's really a great system if you turn off all of the shit your friends do.

Kinda, I used it to get information to the den parents in a way they preferred. Admittedly, I wasn't even good at fb lol

I like FB. Like people have said you can tweak settings so that you only see certain things in your feed. I personally see most of it. Maybe I am a bit of a voyeur, but it works. I see enough interesting stuff on FB that I check it daily. I even keep a lot of the political stuff. I hate most of the conservative memes and things, but sometimes it's good to know what the enemy of the state is doing even if it mostly disgusts you. No need to like FB, just don't use it.
