Some Secret Clearances are based on quick computer analysis based on information provided in the application.

When information is double checked and more detailed checks are done, negative information may turn up.

Maybe now using OPM is now allowing the clearances to be processed faster and no longer being mislaid/lost.

I have a feeling mine is just a preliminary at the moment. I just sent them the EPSQ and fingerprint cards a month or two ago.

You're fired! 😉 You're not supposed to disclose your clearance level. They should have briefed you on COMSEC and OPSEC and given you a SAEDA briefing.

I haven't started yet. Once I do I'm sure I'll get to sign a million NDA's and attend security policy meetings. But I haven't yet.
