Friday
Oh, did I type 'Friday?' Sorry, I didn't mean to do that...I DON'T HAVE CLASS ON FRIDAY!

Okay, okay, I know that I'm just a freshman, and that it will get harder, but for 12 credit hours, could I possibly do any better? I can't wait for the fall - I'll have plenty of free time to post on ATOT!

Wow...Dutch? Interesting choice. But yeah, my first quarter in college was similar to yours. No class Fridays, and late classes in general. It was great.

Get used to it. College classes aren't about filling your weeks with busy hours being in class, but about filling your weeks with time studying.

It will get harder. College keeps me busier than a 40-hour job does, despite the fact that I'm in class only M-Th, and on M/W I only have one class.

AP credits are my best friend, HappyPuppy...I've got 16 credits already from AP tests, so that's basically a fully loaded semester that I don't have to take - I got out of the prerequisite PoliSci class (AP Gov) and basically, if I don't want to take any math, I don't have to, since my major is PoliSci.

In the placement tests, I tested out of two semesters of Spanish (you need four semesters of a language to graduate at UM). If I decided to continue Spanish, I'd be in an upper level Spanish class (231). I decided that rather than try to call up my Spanish skills from almost 2 years ago, I'd rather just start over...and Dutch seemed to be a fun alternative. My advisor told me the Dutch teacher is awesome.

English 125 can either be a b**ch of a class or a complete blow-off. Depends completly on the prof you get. I got the blow off :D

lol, that sched sucks. Take it from a senior. Its great compared to high school, but by the second week of colelge, youll be hitting yourself for having such early classes.

I assume youre dorming, and that means I assume you want to have a good time. Sleep in college does not begin until 2-3am daily. You just screwed yourself over. Get later classes.

No kidding. In the dorms, 10am is early for a class. Hell, I live in a house off campus, my first class is at 11, and I'm still struggling to drag my ass out of bed to get there in time.

And few classes does not equal lots of free time. I had Tuesday and Thursdays off last semester, I'd say maybe 4 days I had nothing to do, the other days were filled with homework or studying.

If you really want a nice schedule, try to cram all your classes into 2 or 3 days. Even better if you can do it on consecutive days. That way you can have a 4-5 day weekend.

You poor child. One word CHICKS!

I purposefully got early classes - I am definitely a morning person - hopefully it'll work out...but yeah, it was a conscious decision.

And yes, I will be in the reshalls next year - I'm on the Hill.

Mark my words. You may be a morning person now, but you wont be after a month. Every morning when you wake up pissed cause you have such an early class, I'm going to be there laughing in your mind. Consider this your fair warning.

i was an early person too. cept i failed to realized my math class was a good 25 min walk from my dorm.. and having that 8am... didn't fair well :)

now it's just 9am tops. and even w/ an easy schedule, friday's i can never manage to get free. my friend who's math/CE had two semesters in a row of no thursdays.

our school may consider forcing friday classes because of ppl trying to avoid them. there was a small blurb about it in the paper....

HAH Nobody could've beaten last quarter's Schedule: (Total 11 units)

Monday:
Philosophy (ethics) 11-12pm
Physics: 1-2pm

Tuesday:
Philosophy Discussion: 1-2pm
Physics Lab: 2-4pm

Wednesday:
Philosophy (ethics): 11-12pm
Physics: 1-2pm

Thursday:
Physics Discussion: 12pm-1pm
Chem Lab: 1pm-4pm

Friday:
Philosophy (ethics): 11-12pm
Physics: 1-2pm

But that all translated down to ditching MWF class, so i was left with Tuesday and Thursday class, with nothing starting before noon, and nothing really ending past 3pm (Labs always ended early) So 5 day weekend with a day break in between!

And everybody who thinks i go to some stupid school, i go to UCI. They gave AP Credits for everything i ever took, so i got shoved into UCI with 76 credits (out of a total 180).

In state tuition is ~$6000 and room/board is ~$6500.
EDIT: Actuallly, my parents encouraged me to take a relatively easy schedule so that I can adjust to life 'away from home.' My advisor told me that my schedule was perfect for a freshman.

and JumpR, that schedule would have killed me had i taken it during my freshman year. Straight off of high school that schedule's really easy, but once you get into college, getting up for a 10am class can be sheer torture.

Everybody in the dorms stays up until 2, 3, even 4am at least
