I agree, the GM 3800 V6 is a very nice motor. Smooth and reasonably powered. Only issue is the intake manifold gasket failure and the intake manifold sometimes cracks, due to it being a plastic or composite and GM decided to route the EGR through the manifold. When the gasket does fail, it will let coolant into the oil. Very bad. On average, the gasket is good for about 100K miles. Also keep the coolant full and it should be flushed and refilled every 3 years or so (not the 5 yr / 100K GM says is ok for Dexcool)
