Tell me that's blowing exhaust... I can see you leaning down into a pile of abrasive dust and losing the sight in your left eye forever.

Use passive method such as a dessicator cartridge filled with silica gel beads.

HINT: You can find these packed with computer hardware and "high performance" kitty litter uses them.

That is what I was worried about. I lost the sight in my left eye FOREVER when I was 17 and I don't want it to happen to anyone esle.

That's what everyone needs, a spinning blade just by their eye. You should move the fan to the outside with a screen in between or something to protect your eye.

Read the thread.

Folks, this fan isn't a Delta screamer or anything. It wouldn't even be able to pick up any dust that couldn't float already, due to the highly restricted intake.

But yeah, I'll try exhausting. It should work the same.

I'll also move the fan to the outside of the goggles.

Sorry, no pics of them being worn.. I'm sure I look plenty ridiculous with them on anyway.. with a 4AA battery pack apparently stuck to my forehead, forget it. 😉

lol

You just need a longer cord so you can keep the battery in your shirt, jacket or pants pocket. I do not think they look very comfortable. Instead try swishing some rain-x anti-fog or some anti-fog solution (for masks and goggles) from your local scuba shop, it works well and does not need batteries.

Try using some duct work and put the fan at the far end of the duct away from the glasses so then you can keep the fan in your pocket and that also solves the problem of the short battery wire.

Yeah, I thought about that.

I may attach the batteries to the elastic band or something, like some headlamps are done.

bah, anti-fog.. What's the fun in that? 😛

They're not anymore uncomfortable than they were before, and less so since it doesen't get all steamy in there.

The battery pack does need attention though.. even though it's centered, it is heavy.

Maybe I'll use a couple of CR123A's instead of the 4AA's.

I didn't catch this post before.

That's actually what I was working on. I finally got around to cutting the hole out for the coldsink. Was using the trusty dremel.. hence the goggles. 😉
