You're right on with the PSU change.

The matter of the LCD is pretty much a personal preference. Costco has the 22" Viewsonic and Sceptre on sale at $299 but thats ending today.

yea i agree with the psu and lcd change.. i have 20.1 inch dual viewsonic widescreen monitors myself i love them.. my question is.. does he want to run dual sli?? cause if so he should change his video card and his mobo as well... or does he even know what that is?? if not maybe you should direct him to an article online.. about it..

Better off with a 330 watt S12 then 580 watt HI-Pro.

Personally I like the monitor choice however.

Tell your roommate he's a dumbass. He should've bought a C2D system. Case close.

Hipro isn't terrible, such as Leadman or Deer, but for a gaming system I highly recommend something with better quality. A Enhance ENP 400W 80+ would be a much better choice. If he wanted something to support a DX10 card or SLi, I recommend the Masscool Nextherm 460W or Corsair HX520W (the Corsair if he can afford it).

cpu: should be c2d
ram: i doubt he'd be OCing...getting something cheaper would be better
hdd: depends which wd drive it is...i think the 2500YD is the best option but that's just me
psu: needs something better, especially with a potential SLI setup and some OCing (why else is he getting the DDR2-800?)
case: costs too much for the parts he bought

i don't really see anything wrong with his lcd choice
