My roommates girlfriend's laugh is driving me insane!

Well, maybe if you spent extra time with her, you'd eventually get desensitized to it. Kind of like those dog owners that somehow can't hear the non-stop barking that would make most people's brains explode.

No MP3's will be provided. I'm not out to make this persons life miserable. If she ever knew who I was on this thread or ever found out people making fun of her laugh online I would feel pretty terrible.

Are you saying she visits these forums? Does she have an account here? This could be fun.

Talk to her about it. Tell her it is getting on your nerves. Then she can begin to see how it would annoy you and others. If she doesn't try to control it, tell her you will evict your roommate... and then how would she feel?

Option A: Retaliate with even more obnoxious, more frequent laugh.

Option B: Purchase noise canceling headphones and wear them at all times when the girlfriend is over, but never when she is not over.

Passive aggressive ftw!

You're the landlord, so this should be extremely simple.

You: "I noticed your girlfriend is over a lot. Does she pay rent?"
Roommate: "No"
You: "Tell her to GTFO until she pays rent. If you have a problem, you can leave too."

Renters have visitor rights.

I've done some research, and I have a 'Lodger' rather than a 'Tenant'. Apparently a lodger is someone that lives in the same building as you and you charge them a monthly fee (aka rent). A tenant is someone that lives in a property or apartment/townhome unit not occupied by the owner.

Apparently there are different set of legal rules that apply to straight up tenants and lodgers. Tenants tend to have more rights than lodgers.

I'm trying to just deal with it, but if her visits continue at this present frequency, I'm gonna have to address this with my roommate with the intention of asking him to leave if he doesn't give in at all.
