I told you he'd move out if he woke up enough times finding you standing over him with a chloroform-soaked rag and a tin of crisco.... :p

I bought Sony Studio monitor headphones at mars music for $90. Not open air, great sound quality and comfy leather covered foam ear pads around the ear. Me thinks you should get off the friggen internet and their "sennheiser only" kick and go look at some decent quality studio headphones at a local music retailer.

Maybe you didn't listen to me, they are studio monitor headphones and they aren't sold as "internet shopping" models. And frankly considering your attitude I'm willing to wager that you haven't had a single pair or quality headphones on your head that wasn't purchased on the internet and wouldn't know quality if it bit you on the ass. In fact your lame attempt at insulting me and listing a model number that is only sold on the internet (and maybe walmart) tells me that you are relying on other people to tell you what is cool via ranking and review sites on the net.

These are the closest match to the phones I have:

They are meant for the studio production of music. They have a 40mm driver, gold plated contacts and GREAT sound response (Pink Floyd sounds wonderful on them). Because I purchased them at a real B&M store I took a CD and tested half a dozen phones before I bought these. My biggest complaint with them is that they are a bit small so cramp my ears and make them hurt after 4 hours or so and they hold on a little tighter when they are new than they probably should.

You're all missing the point.

Speakers support parties, clean dust off the floor, and knock paint off the walls.
Headphones do none of that.

My roommate forgot to give me a really important message last night. I hate him.

He's probably moving out because he suspects you of erasing all the data off his burned CD's...but seeing as how you never leave any incriminating evidence, he's got no proof. So he's moving out instead. ;)

So he moved out because you wouldn't turn down your speakers when he asked you? Seems to me like you should have respected his space more and just plugged a pair of headphones in.

Especially if people can hear the music 3 stories up.

he's moving because he sleeps really early and i dont..

being able to turn my music up is just a benefit for me, i always kept it down when he was in the room, and off when he sleeps
and i dont have the $$$ for headphones.

so he left like 2 days ago - my room kicks so much ass now. i shoved his dresser in his closet, put his desk in the corner, turned his bed sideways to take less space, and finally inflated my inflatable loveseat/2personcouch. heh, everybody in my hall is jealous of my room. :D
