This thread delivers like Domino's...

I don't see anything unusual at all. This is Philly that we're talking about. I live in the area, I know.

These cretins will not be charged with anything. The moment the police approach them, they'll cry racism, say they were set up, and they'll be released.

They're a plague like roaches in the Philly area.

these kinds of punks ARE scary to society

Agreed.. we can make fun of them all we want behind our computer screens.. but in real life these people are probably unstable and the odds of getting shot will be high...

Put them in prison until they are old and don't have the "motivation" to prove their manhood...

Could have just has one of those "What's my IP" type programs on there. They run invisibly and take your IP and update it to a central server somewhere. Used for when you have a website that runs on a Dynamic IP instead of a Static one. Same principles here.

Oh I'm aware of how they work.

I guess I was just over estimating the inteligence of the robbers again 🙁

You have overlooked one crucial fact: This is not Hollywood. Most thieves are stupid phucks, who have nothing to do, and have not evolved beyond being a Homo Erectus.

haha awesome. My brother owned one of his theiving neighbors after he had his house broken into a couple weeks ago. Seems the neighbor didn't realize that feet leave tracks in snow. There were footprints back and forth from the kicked in door on my brothers house to the theives back door. Dumbass.

I know I'm not the only one who lol'ed at this.

Hey. Sorry for no update.

They used the IP to get a warrant on one location. Pretty much everything was recovered except for the TV and a digital camera. They could only arrest two of the kids (who were living at the location). Sadly, I think they only got juvie. Oh well. At least his parents got most of their stuff back.

My only question, and I am really interested if this works...is if they changed providers, how did the remote access program work?

MAC Addy, Computer Name?

I work in domain environments and personally I sort of avoid doing tech work remotely even if it means going to their house. It's bring the PC to me in the office so I can just plug my apps into it and let it bake.

I am looking for a house and I plan to have some active cameras I will monitor from the internet...not looking so much to protect my stuff as if a fire or break-in occured what would happen to my pets and lastly my PC data and family heirlooms. I have insurance for the rest.
