I don't like multiple tones because you don't get acclimated to "phone sound". I tend to tune out extraneous sounds, and having multiple ringtones would get filtered out as background noise. Having 1 ringtone, it gets prioritized as "my phone needs attention".
 
I answer the cell in limited locations. Not in public & def not the car. I don't do headsets as talking is still the distraction while driving & they look stupid ... went thru several in the day. I also don't care for 2.45 GHz near my brain even at low power.

But when I can hear it ring, I like to know who called. The important ring tones from customers & my kids get my attention. If there is too much ambient noise to hear the phone or other distraction, then that is not the time to be on the phone regardless who it is.

With me, cell phones come last ... and there is *always* vibrate.
