I've had IE take up 90+% a few times before and I kill off that "bad" IE process in Task Manager and then all is well.

Time to format and reinstall! :p

I don't remember how to do it but doesn't IE have a "repair" feature....I used it in the past when this occured on my rig and it fixed it right up.

I don't remember how to do it but doesn't IE have a "repair" feature....I used it in the past when this occured on my rig and it fixed it right up.

Yeah...it's in Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs (somewhere in there)

Maybe Windows Update?

i have this problem sometimes after playing video/music clips...except with "EXPLORER.EXE", eats up 99% cpu.
