My Retarded Inspector!

Just venting!

I've got 2 inspectors on site. Giving them both the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the job. When I told them to swap jobs (mind you, a very easy one), one guy got pissed off and threatened me that he'll go back to the office if I make him do it. In short, we argued and I sent him back to the office. My PE took my side but we didn't know he went to our dist. office and complained to our Dist. eng'r. In the end, my boss, the PE helped me explained to our dist. eng'r the whole story. My gripe is, he wants me to approach the "retard" and apologize for being hot headed and HOPEFULLY he'll apologize also to me for not following orders.
My take is, i'll apologize when PIGS FLY!!! Why would you baby-sit a person like that whom everybody knows he's got personality issues. Thinking of giving him a box of diapers and a can of formula on his b-day.

Do I have a point?

Gross insubordination is grounds for immediate dismissal where I work. If you are the inspector's direct supervisor, and you told him to do something that is within is job description and he refused == gross insubordination.

At least document this for his next evaluation / probationary period review.

LOL...Damn you...I don't know why this is funny.😕 I read it, laughed and the beer I was drinking snorted uout my nose.

IF you lost your temper, you should apologize for it. No matter how provoking he was, you should have kept your cool.

Yes, roadway construction.

Blue weasel, same here, Eng'r. Intern right now but already submitted my application. Taking it in Louisiana though. Goodluck.

Yup, I'm submitting my application (Mississippi) on Monday for the fall exam. I'm still pissed off I can't use my HP 48GX calculator, which I've been using since my freshman year in college in 1996. Like I'm going to somehow send exam answers thru the IR port to some guy 3-feet away from me.

Instead, NCEES has come up with an exclusive list of 5 or so POS calculators that can only be used on the exam. For everyone who has been stealing test answers, here's a big FU!

He's inspecting retarded people. A plumbing inspector inspects plumbing, and electrical inspector inspects electrical, a retarded inspector inspects...

Ah... so the OP must be retarded. It all makes sense now!

Anyone who's telling the OP anything besides "That employee is an asshole" is obviously not a supervisor/boss/jefe.

And to the OP, don't apologize to that fvcker, you're right.

Assume this is a road job right? Apologize nicely to him while buttering him up. Grab a surveyors book and make an official looking log (station/offset/etc) for checking the feces levels in the all the sh1thouses onsite. Give him a graduated stick and have him record the sh1t levels for a week.
