BACKGROUND for blooper: (Cliff notes at bottom)
So, in the spirit of bloopering the Nigerian Scammers/scams. I replied to an email about a guy with the same last name as mine who had died 2 years ago. The banker wanted to get me to inherit the money as the next of kin and I will give him 60% and keep 30%, etc.

I wrote back and said, what a coincidence this was that he would know the name of my long lost brother. Could this person really be my brother and did he really die, etc etc. Also, that I was very wealthy and didn't need the money but could help him if this was my brother. I asked for a birthdate and/or death certificate or news report. He told me he was going to contact my brother's driver to get a photo for me.

Fast forward:
His latest email (my response below, with the forwarded FBI's email to me ;) ):
---------------------------------------------
dear sir,

thank you for your mail and sorry for the late reply.iam very sorry about
the way you feel but iam helpless, the driver did not get back to me,i wonder
why?all the information that you need to know if he is your brother is
difficult for me to get.the contacts that i made to get them demand money
from me.you should know am black and once such request from a black man,it
is suspicious.
my country is a third world country, they collect bribe for such information
with the intention that there will not be trouble, haven collected money from
you.

i still wait to hear from you about your assistance to secure the money on
my behalf, after telling you about my wife`s condition and informations that
i need from you to secure the money.

i wait for your urgent response.

My response:
---------------------

Dear Mr. Musa Tofi,

I have received very good news and I believe you will find this good news as
well. It appears that, since our emails were transmitted across the
Internet and is public, the FBI has been able to monitor it. They sent me a
photo of my brother. I have already called him and confirmed that he is
okay. I am very happy for this news. His photo is attached to this email
too so you may view it at your leisure. I thank you for the notifications
to me as they have helped me realize how much I missed my long disappeared
brother whom I have not seen for too long. Today, I am a very happy person.

As for the person you spoke of. The FBI has informed me that he may be the
one they're looking for who left our country many years ago to avoid serious
crime charges. They would like your help in providing some information to
them so they can further their investigation and I am sure you will be happy
to provide this to them. They assure me that you are not in any trouble so
you will have nothing to fear from them. They ask me to forward this email
that they sent to me to you so that they may track it on the Internet to
help them locate your account's IP and hopefully be able to contact your
directly. I'm sure you can help them out. Colonel Jack Hoff has called me
directly and ask that I let you know to click 'Reply' to this email so that
they may track the email as it returns to my account and then they can
contact you from there. Please reply so that they can contact you. Also,
he has informed me that there might be a reward of $50,000 to anyone with
information leading to the arrest of this criminal. I'm sure if you help
them, they will help get that reward to you so that you may get your sick
wife to the hospital. As for the money you mentioned, it does not belong to
my brother so I can not help you. For that I am sorry but perhaps the FBI
can and will. I hope to hear from you again soon. Thank you very much.

Best Regards,
Captain James-Xayer

Cliff notes:
1. Nigerian scam emails
2. Read the FBI's email above.

EDIT: changed scums to scams since the person appeared to be from Amsterdam.
