My Red Alert 2 first impressions

Well my brother bought Red Alert 2 today and I just got done playing a bit of it. The graphics look kind of cheesy but are decent. The gameplay is the same but still is good. The thing that I really don't like as of now is how weak buildings are/how strong weapons are. For instance, the nuke. WTF?? I was Allies but the computer was Soviets and they seem to get the nuke too fast. And it is so damn strong! One nuke took out over half of my base. I didn't have it all clumped together too. I had that lighning storm and that was pretty cheap too. I used that lightning storm and 6 fighters and I took out enough of there base that they sold everything else. And about 4 tanks can take out a building in a few seconds. A bit unbalanced if you ask me, though the game itself seems much faster paced.

Overall, I think it is pretty good. This may chance as I play it more but while I do find it good, I still liked Tiberian Sun better in spite of how much everyone else seemed to hate it.

The nukes always go for the War Factory in RA2, just build the factory away from other buildings and then you will only loose that, if you don't sell it first before it hits!!

I thought it was a way too easy, i played it for around 4 hours a day and finished both Allies and Soviets in 3 days. There were a few tricky bits with the iron curtain and nukes, but once you see what there tactics are you can defend against it.

Allies can destroy a whole base with a squad of 10 Prism tanks, Soviets can do the same with a squad of 8 mammoth tanks - you could get away with 6, but 8 just to be sure..

Doesn't seem any point with the dolphins and Squid, and only airships for the soviets - no proper air attack units like harriers..

Overall not too bad, just not outstanding, run of the mill game with barely nothing new..
