My Question is which one should i choose Disabled , AHCI or RAID?

Hello,

I am using dell inspiron 5570 i want to upgrade from HDD to an NVMe drive but there is raid enebled in my systems bios.

I want to keep both HDD and NVMe drives and I want system to boot from NVMe.

The BIOS has a section for SATA configuration, with the following options

Disabled

AHCI

RAID


My Question is which one should i choose Disabled , AHCI or RAID?

I changed it AHCI after I installed a new SSD in it, however if you want to change it without doing a clean install like I did, you will need to do some extra steps as generally the PC won't boot after that BIOS option is changed.
