One roommate lost his GTA3 savegame, and my other roommate lost his SSX Tricky savegame (all stats were lost)

WTF is up with this, I got it brand new from amazon about a month ago... I never unplug it, I never even touch the damn thing :| :disgust:

here's a pic of it :disgust:

ps2 and stuff

are you using a sony memory card? or an off brand one? maybe after the card is done saving, remove it from the console, and after you start it up put the card back in. test that, see if that might be it.

You never unplugged it? do you turn your system off and on? If yes, then thats your problem. You are supposed to take the card out when shutting off or turning on the PS2.

you are? wow i had never heard that.. I've never had any problems with my memory card. but I'll start taking it out now just to be safe. 🙂

do you use any non sony devices in your playstation? I heard that some can mess up the voltages of the ps2. (i have no clue if its true, probably just passing false rumors...)

Since you've got a POS Gamecube not used since December you can send it to me. I'm sure I'll enjoy it 😀

i have some non-sony controllers for my PSone, and have had no problems. i don't take the memory cards out either and have never had a problem. but i have had a problem with off-brand mem cards...always fail on me. that other post might be right about off-brand parts, like the A/V cable or power cable. both Sony? i would just follow the advice about removing the card before shut down and putting it in after start up.

Out of the 6 total memory cards or controller packs that I own, only two are actually made by the company whose system the cards are being used in. My two PSX cards aren't made by Sony and I've never had a problem with them. My N64 controller packs aren't made by Nintendo and I've never had a problem with them. And my two GCN memory cards are made by Nintendo. And I haven't had a problem with them, either. I've never heard of taking them out of the system when you turn it on or off. Unless I have a problem with it, I think I'll keep on leaving them in there unless I take the sytem somewhere.
