My ps2 is dead after 3 and a half years. Not that suprised really. My bro use to play around 6hrs+ a day but has scaled it down to about 4hrs or so. He play's on it A LOT. He is 8. He is not fat as I do get him to exercise and such. No way would I let my bro get fat.

Dam man also bought MGS2: Substance a few weeks ago and haven't even played it...lol....

Mine died after 2 years and I didn't even use it all that much. Well it worked but the controller port 1 died, so as far as games were concerned the thing didn't work. POS. Xbox is better anywya - go buy yourself one :)

Well I'm not suprised the ps2 is dead. Not with the amount of hrs clocked on the thing by my bro.

Too many games on the ps2 already. Don't like the xbox much and I don't play much except for a few of the games. My bro plays it mainly.

I just traded my PS2 the other day. I had all 3 consoles, but the PS2 was just rotting from lack of play. I really hope PS3 has better graphics.

XBOX, and Cube are really nice.

It won't load up any gmes. It says *No disc error* or *No data* or what not. It won't read any game cd or dvd and load it up.

If you're getting a disc read error, all you basically have to do is clean the disc lense...not that hard I fixed a PS2 this way.

You're the fourth person I know with a dead PS2. For the first two, the fan stopped working inside it. For the other one... it just wouldn't turn on..

Not necessarily true. I got my PS2 the day it came out and mine died on me recently also b/c I kept getting the same error. Did you have it standing vertical or lying horizontal? They say that having it vertical causes big problems for the earlier PS2's. Check some of your games that u play often. Do they have a ring near the center of it that looks like a circular scratch? That's what happened to mine, just stops reading any discs whatsoever.

It wasn't my PS2, it was someone's that I know. What I did was adjust the angle of the lense and cleaned it, then it worked. I'm not sure which way they had it.
